Courthouse Square & The Union Hotel
The Union Hotel stands as a historic landmark on Flemington's Main Street, originally built in 1914 as a vibrant gathering place for stagecoach passengers and socialites throughout the 19th century. This architectural gem represents over a century of heritage in the heart of downtown Flemington. After serving as a restaurant in the late 1900s, the building closed in 2008 until today, where it stands as the centerpiece of Flemington's revitalization. Instead of tearing down this piece of living history, the decision was made to lean into Flemington's architectural heritage and restore the building with care and reverence.
Courthouse Square and Concord Hospitality are breathing new life into this storied building by preserving its historic facade while transforming the interior into modern, creative spaces that masterfully blend old-school Americana with contemporary innovation. The ambitious restoration encompasses the neighboring Deats Building and introduces a 100-room hotel and apartment building as part of the transformative Courthouse Square development. The completed project will feature two distinctive restaurants, creating a dynamic space where past and future converge to welcome both locals and weekenders from the city seeking charm with a side of modernity. The Union Hotel serves as the catalyst for reimagining downtown Flemington, reopening its doors as the cornerstone of the town's revival and a beacon of what's possible when history and progress unite in perfect harmony.
